Greetings on this February 1st, pleasant
Monday morning.
PERSONAL NOTE:
I want to thank everyone who assisted in preparation for the Sunday
worship service. Thank you Linda Hittle
for the messages in song...I appreciate your ministry in music. Happy anniversary on the 3rd to Gene and Carolyn Wylie...48 years!
LEADERSHIP APOLOGETICS: Click this LINK for our 54th apologetics short video. I believe there is much to
learn from these nationally recognized Christian teachers and
philosophers. Today's lesson is "Homosexual Forgiveness"
TRAINING THE TEACHER: My purpose here is to provide long-term biblical training for those who are
in church work but may not feel adequately trained in the Bible and
Christianity teaching in general. I want all of you to take this
training (whether you teach or not) because it will better equip you to
teach or live as a disciple of Christ. All of the material for this
training is coming to you by Biblical Training.org. I am linking you to
their site for each of the lessons. You will be exposed to some of the
finest Bible teachers in the country. You will receive Bible Institute
level training. Our session here is one of 18 lessons (one each week). This is Lesson 18 of 18, "Esther, Daniel, Ezra-Nehemiah & Chronicles" from the module: Understanding the Old Testament with Dr. Paul House as teacher. Click this LINK for the video lesson. Visit their website and see that there are
different levels for your involvement. By registering with them (free), you
can have access to outlines, transcripts, etc. If you choose to do more
than one lesson each week...go for it! Study at your pace!
HOPE FOR PARENTS: Click this LINK for the article, "Overcommitment and Fatigue: A Deadly Sin."
ADVANCED DISCIPLESHIP: Click this LINK for lesson 1 of a 24 lesson series entitled: Introduction to Islam. Lesson 1 is: "Introduction to Islam". The
host for this series is Dr. Timothy Tennent. This is a much more extensive study of Islam than our previous essentials' study. I
believe that you will profit greatly from this study.
HERE'S MY QUESTION: "Romans 8:18 and 1Pet chapter 4 seem to imply Christians should
rejoice in our suffering because of the sympathy towards the suffering
of Jesus, and some how that is related to Glory. When Christians suffer
how is that immediately glorious?" Click on this LINK .
GRADUATE STUDIES: "Ministries of the Church..." This is Session 5 of 10 under Ecclesiology and Eschatology (The study of the Church and future things). Click on this LINK . These are video lessons (they also have an audio version available on
the same page). At
the end of Dec. 2014, we started the Graduate Program over from the
beginning. These lessons are at an advanced, graduate level of study. If
you
missed any lessons previously, get them this time around. You must put your thinking cap on for these studies.
COUNSELING HELP: The category is Grief and Loss. Click this LINK for the article:"Understanding Grief." Send this link to someone that you think might need this information. This is helpful advice.
LEADERSHIP QUOTE: "Who seeks shall find." Sophocles. Here is a humorous bonus by that great (and now deceased) baseball player and philosopher, Yogi Berra,
to lighten your day: Cardinal Spellman asked Yogi on his return from Italy if he had an audience with the Pope, Yogi responded: "No, but I saw him." Then the Cardinal asked what Yogi had said to the Pope. Yogi responded that the Pope said,"Hello, Yogi." Yogi answered, "Hello Pope." A born diplomat, Yogi.
My desire for you this week is that you find what you are looking for.
In His Majesty's service, Pastor Darrell.
