April 6, 2015...Training Material

Greetings on this early April, Monday morning.

PERSONAL NOTE: I want to thank everyone who assisted in preparation for the Sunday worship service. Thank you Linda Hittle for leading the choir for the Cantata in the absence of Dee (I hope that you are feeling better)...excellent work! Thanks to Brandon Eger for your solo parts and to Jennifer Sample for the narration. Thanks also to Ernie Johnston and crew for the wonderful Easter breakfast that we all enjoyed...great job guys!

LEADERSHIP APOLOGETICS: Click this LINKfor our ninth apologetics short video. I believe there is much to learn for these nationally recognized Christian teachers and philosophers. Today's lesson is "What About Those Who Have Never Heard?". What do you think of the answer? Did it help? Check on the book available.

TRAINING THE TEACHER: My intent here is to provide long-term biblical training for those who are in church work but may not feel adequately trained in the Bible and Christianity teaching in general. I want all of you to take this training (whether you teach or not) because it will better equip you to teach or live as a disciple of Christ. All of the material for this training is  coming to you by Biblical Training.org. I am linking you to their site for each of the lessons. You will be exposed to some of the finest Bible teachers in the country. You will receive Bible Institute level training. Our third session is one of 12 lessons (one each week). It is Lesson 4, "Listening to God" from the module: Life is a Journey with Dr. Bill Mounce as teacher. Click this LINK for the video lesson. Visit their website and see that there are different levels for your involvement. By registering with them (free), you can have access to outlines, transcripts, etc. If you choose to do more than one lesson each week...go for it! Study at your pace!

ADVANCED DISCIPLESHIP: Click this LINK  for the article, An Exposition of the Gospel of Matthew...Lesson 19...The Sign of Jonah. This series will last for a number of weeks. The host for this series is Dr. Allen Ross.

HERE'S MY QUESTION: Is using the term "Xmas" leaving Christ out of Christmas? Click on this LINK. This may be controversial to some but it is correct.

GRADUATE STUDIES: Bibliology and Hermeneutics..."Canonization of Scripture (NT)"...Lesson 5 of 10. Click on this LINK . These are video lessons (they also have an audio version available on the same page). At the end of Dec. 2014, we started the Graduate Program over from the beginning. If you missed any lessons previously, get them this time around. This session may appear to be really academic, but it is very important for you to grasp the backdrop of the Bible.

COUNSELING HELP: This is from a series of articles on Anxiety: "What is Bipolar Disorder". Click this LINK for it. This article is helpful for families and friends of those afflicted. Know what you are dealing with.

LEADERSHIP QUOTE: "With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts.." E. Roosevelt. Here is a humorous bonus by that great baseball player and philosopher, Yogi Berra, to lighten your day: Yogi once said: "A nickel ain't worth a dime anymore." Who would doubt this?

My desire for you this week is that you bask in the glow of the Resurrection. Jesus is alive!

In His Majesty's service, Pastor Darrell.
