April 13, 2015...Training Material

Greetings on this mid-April, Monday morning.

PERSONAL NOTE: I want to thank everyone who assisted in preparation for the Sunday worship service. Thank you TEEN CHOIR for the special music...nice job! Thanks to those of you who set up and take care of Communion.

LEADERSHIP APOLOGETICS: Click this LINKfor our tenth apologetics short video. I believe there is much to learn for these nationally recognized Christian teachers and philosophers. Today's lesson is "Understanding New Atheism".

TRAINING THE TEACHER: My intent here is to provide long-term biblical training for those who are in church work but may not feel adequately trained in the Bible and Christianity teaching in general. I want all of you to take this training (whether you teach or not) because it will better equip you to teach or live as a disciple of Christ. All of the material for this training is  coming to you by Biblical Training.org. I am linking you to their site for each of the lessons. You will be exposed to some of the finest Bible teachers in the country. You will receive Bible Institute level training. Our fifth session is one of 12 lessons (one each week). It is Lesson 5, "Speaking With God" from the module: Life is a Journey with Dr. Bill Mounce as teacher. Click this LINK for the video lesson. Visit their website and see that there are different levels for your involvement. By registering with them (free), you can have access to outlines, transcripts, etc. If you choose to do more than one lesson each week...go for it! Study at your pace!

LEADERSHIP QUOTE: "I don't believe you have to be better than everybody else. I believe you have to be better than you ever thought you could be." K. Venturi. Here is a humorous bonus by that great baseball player and philosopher, Yogi Berra, to lighten your day: Yogi was complaining about scratches on his hands while working in the yard. His wife threw him some gloves and he responded: "The only reason I need these gloves is 'cause of my hands." Profound!

My desire for you this week is that you do better than you thought that you could. Accept the challenge!

In His Majesty's service, Pastor Darrell.
