November 1, 2010... Training Materials

Greetings to each of you on this first day of November!

PERSONAL NOTE: Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010 began the kick-off for Operation Christmas Child. We showed a short video of what is involved in providing the shoe boxes for children all over the world. What a tremendous opportunity this is! Let us have all of our people get involved in one way or another. Reach the kids while we can!

A special thanks to Jan Foltz for the solo she sang yesterday. Well done... and a true blessing to all.

It was good to see Elizabeth Swift back with us. Continued healing is prayed for... also RoseMarie was with us Sunday. It was good to see you in our midst! We continue to pray for you.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Oct. 31 Fall Outreach. Congratulations to those who received the winning prizes... job well done! Our next date on the Fall Outreach Campaign is November 21, 2010. Begin making your plans to invite a guest with you for that Sunday. Our work will make it a great day!

11/3/10 NOTE: Two days ago I received my Bible back from having it rebound. I got the Bible in 1987 (that's 23 years ago) and have used it as my main study Bible as well as my preaching Bible. I am not abusive to it or handle it roughly, but through the years of constant use it began to come apart in certain sections. It was time to think of getting a new one or having the old one rebound. Because of all of my notes, I decided to get it rebound. Now the problem was, who do I let touch it. After some extensive research, I found Ace Bookbinding Company, 825 N. Classen Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 73106. Their phone number is 1-800-525-8896.

I am very pleased with their craftsmanship and the finished product. I had it rebound in genuine cowhide leather with three ribbons added and five extra sheets at the end of the Bible for notes. It cost me $79 plus s&h to have it done (yours may vary due to size). For me it was money well spent. Thank you Ace Bookbinding... well done! I recommend them for your rebinding needs.

YOU CAN KNOW THE WILL OF GOD: In Second Thessalonians 3: 13, we are instructed "... never tire of doing what is right." This is God's will clearly stated. Each one of us has the opportunity to keep God's will by simply doing what is right. As Christians, this must be our pattern. Today, as you go about your regular duties, do not feel worn down by good deeds. Rather, wear them as a badge of honor as you serve the Lord. This is the will of God for you!

BOOK RECOMMENDATION: This month, I want to recommend to you the book: Bringing Your Faith To Work by Norman Geisler and Randy Douglass. It is published by Baker Books of Grand Rapids, Michigan. The book is designed to help you with responses for "seemingly unanswerable queries of your colleagues". This book will help you give reasons for the faith that you hold. The book is divided into two parts: Part One is "Salt and Light in the Workplace" and Part Two is "Hot topics around the Water cooler". I believe that you will find this apologetics book very helpful and very readable.
