Greetings on this March 28th, Monday morning. Spring rain is here.
PERSONAL NOTE:
I want to thank everyone who assisted in preparation for the Easter Sunday
worship service. Thank you Choir for the message in song...I always appreciate a cantata. Thank you Ernie and Associates for the wonderful breakfast...it was the best! Thank you goes out to everyone who provided for the decorations. It was a wonderful day...and to top it off, we had a salvation decision made Easter Sunday.
LEADERSHIP APOLOGETICS: Click this LINK for our 62nd apologetics short video. I believe there is much to
learn from these nationally recognized Christian teachers and
philosophers. Today's lesson is "When were the Gospels written?"
TRAINING THE TEACHER: My purpose here is to provide long-term biblical training for those who are
in church work but may not feel adequately trained in the Bible and
Christianity teaching in general. I want all of you to take this
training (whether you teach or not) because it will better equip you to
teach or live as a disciple of Christ. All of the material for this
training is coming to you by Biblical Training.org. I am linking you to
their site for each of the lessons. You will be exposed to some of the
finest Bible teachers in the country. You will receive Bible Institute
level training. Our session here is one of 12 lessons (one each week). This is Lesson 8 of 12, "Acts, Galatians and I Thessalonians." from the module: Understanding the New Testament with Dr. Craig Blomberg as teacher. Click this LINK for the video lesson. Visit their website and see that there are
different levels for your involvement. By registering with them (free), you
can have access to outlines, transcripts, etc. If you choose to do more
than one lesson each week...go for it! Study at your
pace.
HOPE FOR PARENTS: Click this LINK for the article, "What will you do with Jesus."
ADVANCED DISCIPLESHIP: Click this LINK for lesson 9 of a 24 lesson series entitled: Introduction to Islam. Lesson 9 is: "Pillar 5". The
host for this series is Dr. Timothy Tennent. This is a much more
extensive study of Islam than our previous essentials' study. I
believe that you will profit greatly from this study.
HERE'S MY QUESTION: "Is the claim correct that many early translations and writings of the church fathers show they are in support of the Byzantine text?" Click on this LINK . Difficult subject, but important...worth your time, even though you may not understand textual criticism.
GRADUATE STUDIES: This is Session 3 of 10 under Introduction to Theology. Click on this LINK . This lesson is "Categories of Theology". These are video lessons (they also have an audio version available on
the same page). In March 2016, we started the Graduate Program over from the
beginning again. These lessons are at an advanced, graduate level of study. If
you
missed any lessons previously, get them the next time around. You must put your thinking cap on for these studies. They are sometimes difficult, yet profitable.
COUNSELING HELP: The category is Marriage. Click this LINK for the article:"Six Misconceptions about Marriage Counseling."
LEADERSHIP QUOTE: "Quality is not an act, it is a habit." Aristotle. If it doesn't happen to be it should be! Here is a humorous bonus by that great (and now deceased) baseball player and philosopher, Yogi Berra,
to lighten your day: This was Yogi's answer to a reporter concerning how far the Mets were behind in their division in 1973, Yogi said: "It ain't over till it's over." There you go.This is one of my favorites. Any more questions?
My desire for you this week is that you realize it ain't over till it's over!
In His Majesty's service, Pastor Darrell.
