Greetings on this March 7th, Monday morning.
PERSONAL NOTE:
I want to thank everyone who assisted in preparation for the Sunday
worship service. Thank you Jan Foltz for the message in song...nice arrangement. Happy birthday Barb Swift...number...moving right along.
LEADERSHIP APOLOGETICS: Click this LINK for our 60th apologetics short video. I believe there is much to
learn from these nationally recognized Christian teachers and
philosophers. Today's lesson is "Philanthropy and Standing Out"
TRAINING THE TEACHER: My purpose here is to provide long-term biblical training for those who are
in church work but may not feel adequately trained in the Bible and
Christianity teaching in general. I want all of you to take this
training (whether you teach or not) because it will better equip you to
teach or live as a disciple of Christ. All of the material for this
training is coming to you by Biblical Training.org. I am linking you to
their site for each of the lessons. You will be exposed to some of the
finest Bible teachers in the country. You will receive Bible Institute
level training. Our session here is one of 12 lessons (one each week). This is Lesson 6 of 12, "A Harmony of the Gospels, pt.2of 3." from the module: Understanding the New Testament with Dr. Craig Blomberg as teacher. Click this LINK for the video lesson. Visit their website and see that there are
different levels for your involvement. By registering with them (free), you
can have access to outlines, transcripts, etc. If you choose to do more
than one lesson each week...go for it! Study at your
pace.
HOPE FOR PARENTS: Click this LINK for the article, "Technology Rules That Teens Would Set for Their Parents."
Interesting.
ADVANCED DISCIPLESHIP: Click this LINK for lesson 7 of a 24 lesson series entitled: Introduction to Islam. Lesson 7 is: "Pillars 1 and 2". The
host for this series is Dr. Timothy Tennent. This is a much more
extensive study of Islam than our previous essentials' study. I
believe that you will profit greatly from this study.
HERE'S MY QUESTION: "Why does the Protestant Bible have 66 Books and the Catholic Bible has 73?" Click on this LINK .
GRADUATE STUDIES: We start again from the beginning. This is Session 1 of 10 under Introduction to Theology. Click on this LINK . This lesson is "Class Introduction". These are video lessons (they also have an audio version available on
the same page). At
the end of Dec. 2014, we started the Graduate Program over from the
beginning. These lessons are at an advanced, graduate level of study. If
you
missed any lessons previously, get them the next time around. You must put your thinking cap on for these studies. They are sometimes difficult, yet profitable.
COUNSELING HELP: The category is Homosexual Issues. Click this LINK for the article:"Overcoming Homosexuality."
LEADERSHIP QUOTE: "Your talent is God's gift to you. What you do with it is your gift back to God." L. Buscaglia. Here is a humorous bonus by that great (and now deceased) baseball player and philosopher, Yogi Berra,
to lighten your day: Little League baseball is a good thing 'cause it keeps the parents off the streets and the kids out of the house!" There you have it!
My desire for you this week is that you use your talent.
In His Majesty's service, Pastor Darrell.
