January 4, 2016...Training Material

Greetings on this January 4th , Monday morning...my first post in this new year. I hope that you have a wonderful new year. If you have been with me here for a few years, you have experienced a tremendous training of God's Word. Let's continue.

PERSONAL NOTE: I want to thank everyone who assisted in preparation for the Sunday worship service. Thanks to all who helped with communion set up and delivery. I enjoyed Dee Spohn's song.

LEADERSHIP APOLOGETICS: Click this LINK  for our 50th apologetics short video. I believe there is much to learn from these nationally recognized Christian teachers and philosophers. Today's lesson is "Do We Hunger For Truth Today?"

TRAINING THE TEACHER: My purpose here is to provide long-term biblical training for those who are in church work but may not feel adequately trained in the Bible and Christianity teaching in general. I want all of you to take this training (whether you teach or not) because it will better equip you to teach or live as a disciple of Christ. All of the material for this training is  coming to you by Biblical Training.org. I am linking you to their site for each of the lessons. You will be exposed to some of the finest Bible teachers in the country. You will receive Bible Institute level training. Our session here is one of 18 lessons (one each week). This is Lesson 14 of 18, "The Book of the Twelve - Pt. 2" from the module: Understanding the Old Testament with Dr. Paul House as teacher. Click this LINK  for the video lesson. Visit their website and see that there are different levels for your involvement. By registering with them (free), you can have access to outlines, transcripts, etc. If you choose to do more than one lesson each week...go for it! Study at your pace!
HOPE FOR PARENTS: Click this LINK for the article, "I Stand By The Door."

ADVANCED DISCIPLESHIP: Click this LINK  for lesson 4 of a 7 lesson series entitled: Essentials of  Islam.  Lesson 4 is: "Authority and Revelation". The host for this series is Dr. Timothy Tennent. The short series is designed to introduce you to the subject. Once this 7 lesson series is over, we will look at a second, but much more extensive study of Islam. I believe that you will profit greatly from these studies.

HERE'S MY QUESTION: "Was any part of the New Testament found among the Dead Sea scrolls?" Click on this LINK .

GRADUATE STUDIES: "Intro. and the Nature of the Church". This is Session 1 of 10 under Ecclesiology and Eschatology (The study of the Church and future things). Click on this LINK . These are video lessons (they also have an audio version available on the same page). At the end of Dec. 2014, we started the Graduate Program over from the beginning. These lessons are at an advanced, graduate level of study. If you missed any lessons previously, get them this time around. You must put your thinking cap on for these studies.

COUNSELING HELP: The category is Forgiveness. Click this LINK for the article:"What Makes Forgiveness So Hard?" Send this link to someone that you think might need this information.

LEADERSHIP QUOTE: "By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail." Benjamin Franklin. Here is a humorous bonus by that great (and now deceased) baseball player and philosopher, Yogi Berra, to lighten your day: When Yogi was apparently talking about goals he said: "You've got to be careful if you don't know where you're going 'cause you might not get there.". Yes, that's Yogi...think about it.

My desire for you this week is that you be prepared to minister.
In His Majesty's service, Pastor Darrell.
