Greetings on this January 11th,
Monday morning. Burrrr...a cold, icy Monday morning...be careful! Pray for me, I have to go to Saginaw today for Ask The Pastor. I pray for a safe trip there and back.
PERSONAL NOTE:
I want to thank everyone who assisted in preparation for the Sunday
worship service. I enjoyed the song by Jan Foltz...great selection. A special thanks to all who helped in the Christmas decoration tear down and auditorium set up.
LEADERSHIP APOLOGETICS: Click this LINK for our 51st apologetics short video. I believe there is much to
learn from these nationally recognized Christian teachers and
philosophers. Today's lesson is "Euthanasia?"
TRAINING THE TEACHER: My purpose here is to provide long-term biblical training for those who are
in church work but may not feel adequately trained in the Bible and
Christianity teaching in general. I want all of you to take this
training (whether you teach or not) because it will better equip you to
teach or live as a disciple of Christ. All of the material for this
training is coming to you by Biblical Training.org. I am linking you to
their site for each of the lessons. You will be exposed to some of the
finest Bible teachers in the country. You will receive Bible Institute
level training. Our session here is one of 18 lessons (one each week). This is Lesson 15 of 18, "The Writings: Psalms" from the module: Understanding the Old Testament with Dr. Paul House as teacher. Click this LINK for the video lesson. Visit their website and see that there are
different levels for your involvement. By registering with them (free), you
can have access to outlines, transcripts, etc. If you choose to do more
than one lesson each week...go for it! Study at your pace!
HOPE FOR PARENTS: Click this LINK for the article, "The Road to Happiness."
ADVANCED DISCIPLESHIP: Click this LINK for lesson 5 of a 7 lesson series entitled: Essentials of Islam. Lesson 5 is: "Is Islam a Religion of Peace?". The
host for this series is Dr. Timothy Tennent. The short series is
designed to introduce you to the subject. Once this 7 lesson series is
over, we will look at a second, but much more extensive study of Islam. I
believe that you will profit greatly from these studies.
HERE'S MY QUESTION: "Who was the first person to put the Bible in written form?" Click on this LINK .
GRADUATE STUDIES: "The Church and Israel: A Defense of Replacement Theology." This is Session 2 of 10 under Ecclesiology and Eschatology (The study of the Church and future things). Click on this LINK . These are video lessons (they also have an audio version available on
the same page). At
the end of Dec. 2014, we started the Graduate Program over from the
beginning. These lessons are at an advanced, graduate level of study. If
you
missed any lessons previously, get them this time around. You must put your thinking cap on for these studies. This lesson is not an endorsement but an explanation.
COUNSELING HELP: The category is Forgiveness. Click this LINK for the article:"The Power of Forgiveness." Send this link to someone that you think might need this information.
LEADERSHIP QUOTE: "Either you run the day or the day runs you." Jim Rohn. Here is a humorous bonus by that great (and now deceased) baseball player and philosopher, Yogi Berra,
to lighten your day: When a reporter asked Yogi if Joe DiMaggio was fast, he said: "No, he just got there in time." Way to go, Yogi.
My desire for you this week is that you run the race for Christ.
In His Majesty's service, Pastor Darrell.
