Greetings on this December 7th, Monday morning.
PERSONAL NOTE:
I want to thank everyone who assisted in preparation for the Sunday
worship service. Thank you, Jan and Denise for lighting the second Advent candle. Thank you Dee and Choir for bringing the special choir music. I liked it. I hope that all of you who helped had a great time setting up all of the Christmas decorations at the Church.
LEADERSHIP APOLOGETICS: Click this LINK for our 45th apologetics short video. I believe there is much to
learn from these nationally recognized Christian teachers and
philosophers. Today's lesson is "Why is Jesus the only one qualified?" Very helpful.
TRAINING THE TEACHER: My purpose here is to provide long-term biblical training for those who are
in church work but may not feel adequately trained in the Bible and
Christianity teaching in general. I want all of you to take this
training (whether you teach or not) because it will better equip you to
teach or live as a disciple of Christ. All of the material for this
training is coming to you by Biblical Training.org. I am linking you to
their site for each of the lessons. You will be exposed to some of the
finest Bible teachers in the country. You will receive Bible Institute
level training. Our session here is one of 18 lessons (one each week). This is Lesson 10 of 18, "Isaiah" from the module: Understanding the Old Testament with Dr. Paul House as teacher. Click this LINK for the video lesson. Visit their website and see that there are
different levels for your involvement. By registering with them (free), you
can have access to outlines, transcripts, etc. If you choose to do more
than one lesson each week...go for it! Study at your pace!
HOPE FOR PARENTS: Click this LINK for the article, "Christmas: Don't Just Survive, Celebrate!"
ADVANCED DISCIPLESHIP: Click this LINK for lesson 1 of a 7 lesson series entitled: Introduction to Islam. Lesson 1 is: "Historical Context". The host for this series is Dr. Timothy Tennent. The short series is designed to introduce you to the subject. Once this 7 lesson series is over, we will look at a second, but much more extensive study of Islam. I believe that you will profit greatly from these studies.
HERE'S MY QUESTION: "Why are people different colors...?" Click on this LINK .
GRADUATE STUDIES: "The Doctrine of Conversion". This is Session 7 of 10 under Soteriology (The study of Salvation). Click on this LINK . These are video lessons (they also have an audio version available on
the same page). At
the end of Dec. 2014, we started the Graduate Program over from the
beginning. These lessons are at an advanced, graduate level of study. If
you
missed any lessons previously, get them this time around. You must put your thinking cap on for these studies.
COUNSELING HELP: The category is Faith 101. Click this LINK for the article:"God has a plan for your life." Send this link to someone that you think needs this information.
LEADERSHIP QUOTE: "You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else." Albert Einstein. Here is a humorous bonus by that great (and now deceased) baseball player and philosopher, Yogi Berra,
to lighten your day: One
day in 1964, Yogi was managing the Yankees and he yelled this to his players: "You can observe a lot by watching." There you have it...great advice from an all-star.
My desire for you this week is that you learn the rules and win.
In His Majesty's service, Pastor Darrell.
