Greetings on this November 30th, Monday morning.
PERSONAL NOTE:
I want to thank everyone who assisted in preparation for the Sunday
worship service. Thank you, Mike and Jan Bard for lighting the first Advent candle. Thus begins the Christmas Season! Thank you Dee Spohn for bringing the special music. Very nice. I hope that all of you had a great Thanksgiving...I know that I did.
LEADERSHIP APOLOGETICS: Click this LINK for our 44th apologetics short video. I believe there is much to
learn from these nationally recognized Christian teachers and
philosophers. Today's lesson is "How to respond to an Atheist." Very interesting.
TRAINING THE TEACHER: My intent here is to provide long-term biblical training for those who are
in church work but may not feel adequately trained in the Bible and
Christianity teaching in general. I want all of you to take this
training (whether you teach or not) because it will better equip you to
teach or live as a disciple of Christ. All of the material for this
training is coming to you by Biblical Training.org. I am linking you to
their site for each of the lessons. You will be exposed to some of the
finest Bible teachers in the country. You will receive Bible Institute
level training. Our session here is one of 18 lessons (one each week). This is Lesson 9 of 18, "I and II Kings" from the module: Understanding the Old Testament with Dr. Paul House as teacher. Click this LINK for the video lesson. Visit their website and see that there are
different levels for your involvement. By registering with them (free), you
can have access to outlines, transcripts, etc. If you choose to do more
than one lesson each week...go for it! Study at your pace!
HOPE FOR PARENTS: Click this LINK for the article, "Make Me an Instrument."
ADVANCED DISCIPLESHIP: Click this LINK for lesson 4 of 4 "Additional Resources Concerning Marriage". The host for this series is Pastor Bob Deffinbaugh. The short series is entitled:...How, Then, Shall We Live? Our next study will be an Introduction to Islam.
HERE'S MY QUESTION: "Are the Canaanites black?" Click on this LINK .
GRADUATE STUDIES: "The Doctrine of Calling and Regeneration". This is Session 6 of 10 under Soteriology. Click on this LINK . These are video lessons (they also have an audio version available on
the same page). At
the end of Dec. 2014, we started the Graduate Program over from the
beginning. These lessons are at an advanced, graduate level of study. If
you
missed any lessons previously, get them this time around. You must put your thinking cap on for these studies.
COUNSELING HELP: The category is Faith 101. Click this LINK for the article:"How do you become a Christian?". It is important that you understand this. Send this link to someone at risk.
LEADERSHIP QUOTE: "Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence." Helen Keller. Here is a humorous bonus by that great (and now deceased) baseball player and philosopher, Yogi Berra,
to lighten your day: One
day, Yogi was apparently talking about receiving mail. He said: "Never answer an anonymous letter." There you have it...great advice.
My desire for you this week is that you experience optimism regularly.
In His Majesty's service, Pastor Darrell.
