December 21, 2015...Training Material

Greetings on this December 21st, Monday morning...Merry Christmas!

PERSONAL NOTE: I want to thank everyone who assisted in preparation for the Sunday worship service. Thanks to the McPherson family for lighting our 4th Advent Candle. Thank you Bud and Savior Singers for bringing special  music. Thank you Junior and Senior Choir for the special number...I enjoyed it. THANKS to all who went Christmas Caroling with us Friday night. It was a real blessing.

Once again, thank you from Jan and myself for the Christmas gift given to us at the Christmas program from the Sunday School. It was gracious of you.

LEADERSHIP APOLOGETICS: Click this LINK for our 48th apologetics short video. I believe there is much to learn from these nationally recognized Christian teachers and philosophers. Today's lesson is "Science Doesn't say anything..."

TRAINING THE TEACHER: My purpose here is to provide long-term biblical training for those who are in church work but may not feel adequately trained in the Bible and Christianity teaching in general. I want all of you to take this training (whether you teach or not) because it will better equip you to teach or live as a disciple of Christ. All of the material for this training is  coming to you by Biblical Training.org. I am linking you to their site for each of the lessons. You will be exposed to some of the finest Bible teachers in the country. You will receive Bible Institute level training. Our session here is one of 18 lessons (one each week). This is Lesson 12 of 18, "Ezekiel" from the module: Understanding the Old Testament with Dr. Paul House as teacher. Click this LINK  for the video lesson. Visit their website and see that there are different levels for your involvement. By registering with them (free), you can have access to outlines, transcripts, etc. If you choose to do more than one lesson each week...go for it! Study at your pace!
HOPE FOR PARENTS: Click this LINK for the article, "The 12 Duhs of Christmas." Interesting!

ADVANCED DISCIPLESHIP: Click this LINK  for lesson 2 of a 7 lesson series entitled: Essentials of  Islam.  Lesson 2 is: "The Qu'ran and the Five Pillars". The host for this series is Dr. Timothy Tennent. The short series is designed to introduce you to the subject. Once this 7 lesson series is over, we will look at a second, but much more extensive study of Islam. I believe that you will profit greatly from these studies. [Last week I gave you the wrong lesson...out of order. This is the correct lesson and we are back on track,]

HERE'S MY QUESTION: "How should we respond to,''Well, that's your interpretation.''?" Click on this LINK .

GRADUATE STUDIES: "The Doctrine of Sanctification". This is Session 9 of 10 under Soteriology (The study of Salvation). Click on this LINK . These are video lessons (they also have an audio version available on the same page). At the end of Dec. 2014, we started the Graduate Program over from the beginning. These lessons are at an advanced, graduate level of study. If you missed any lessons previously, get them this time around. You must put your thinking cap on for these studies.

COUNSELING HELP: The category is Prayer. Click this LINK for the article:"How Big Is Your Mountain?" Send this link to someone that you think needs this information.

LEADERSHIP QUOTE: "Do you want to know who you are? Don't ask. Act! Action will delineate and define you." Thomas Jefferson. Here is a humorous bonus by that great (and now deceased) baseball player and philosopher, Yogi Berra, to lighten your day: Once, Yogi was giving directions to someone about how to get to a certain racquetball club and he said,"It's not too far, it just seems like it is". Good old Yogi.

My desire for you and me this week is that you act. It will make all of the difference.
In His Majesty's service, Pastor Darrell.
