November 23, 2015...Training Material

Greetings on this November 23rd, Monday morning.

PERSONAL NOTE: I want to thank everyone who assisted in preparation for the Sunday worship service. I hope that you dropped off your Operation Christmas Child box. At the dedication of the boxes Sunday morning we had approximately 173 turned in...a few more stragglers will probably come in over the next couple of days. GOOD WORK CHURCH! A big THANKS to everyone who made the Harvest Dinner gathering on Sunday a great success. I also want to thank Jason Woolford from CRI for speaking Sunday and reminding us of what we do. All in all, it was a great Sunday.

LEADERSHIP APOLOGETICS: Click this LINK for our 43rd apologetics short video. I believe there is much to learn from these nationally recognized Christian teachers and philosophers. Today's lesson is "Tolerance is Unbiblical." Very interesting.

TRAINING THE TEACHER: My intent here is to provide long-term biblical training for those who are in church work but may not feel adequately trained in the Bible and Christianity teaching in general. I want all of you to take this training (whether you teach or not) because it will better equip you to teach or live as a disciple of Christ. All of the material for this training is  coming to you by Biblical Training.org. I am linking you to their site for each of the lessons. You will be exposed to some of the finest Bible teachers in the country. You will receive Bible Institute level training. Our session here is one of 18 lessons (one each week). This is Lesson 8 of 18, "II Samuel and Kings" from the module: Understanding the Old Testament with Dr. Paul House as teacher. Click this LINK  for the video lesson. Visit their website and see that there are different levels for your involvement. By registering with them (free), you can have access to outlines, transcripts, etc. If you choose to do more than one lesson each week...go for it! Study at your pace!

ADVANCED DISCIPLESHIP: Click this LINK  for lesson 3 of 4 "The Success of Sinners...". The host for this series is Pastor Bob Deffinbaugh. The short series is entitled:...How, Then, Shall We Live?

HERE'S MY QUESTION: "Out of which of Noah's three sons did the Chinese race come from?" Click on this LINK . Worthy of your attention.

GRADUATE STUDIES: "The Doctrine of the Atonement, pt. 2 of 2". This is Session 5 of 10 under Soteriology. Click on this LINK . These are video lessons (they also have an audio version available on the same page). At the end of Dec. 2014, we started the Graduate Program over from the beginning. These lessons are at an advanced, graduate level of study. If you missed any lessons previously, get them this time around. You must put your thinking cap on.

COUNSELING HELP: The category is Faith 101. Click this LINK for the article:"What is a Cult?". It is important that you understand this. Send this link to someone at risk.

LEADERSHIP QUOTE: "Be miserable. Or motivate yourself. Whatever has to be done, it's always your choice." Wayne Dyer. Here is a humorous bonus by that great (and now deceased) baseball player and philosopher, Yogi Berra, to lighten your day: One day, Yogi sent a telegram to Johnny Bench after he had broken Yogi's record for most home runs by a catcher. In it he said: "Congratulations. I knew the record would stand until it was broken."  There you have it.

My desire for you this week is that you make the right choices.
In His Majesty's service, Pastor Darrell.
