Greetings on this August 31st Monday morning.
PERSONAL NOTE:
I want to thank everyone who assisted in preparation for the Sunday
worship service. Thank you Jan and Dee for
the message in song. Everyone loved it. I also want to thank all of the adults who went to Cedar Point with the kids. Job well done!
We welcome back the choir from vacation.
LEADERSHIP APOLOGETICS: Click this LINK for our 31st apologetics short video. I believe there is much to
learn for these nationally recognized Christian teachers and
philosophers. Today's lesson is "Intelligent Design, Creation".
TRAINING THE TEACHER: My intent here is to provide long-term biblical training for those who are
in church work but may not feel adequately trained in the Bible and
Christianity teaching in general. I want all of you to take this
training (whether you teach or not) because it will better equip you to
teach or live as a disciple of Christ. All of the material for this
training is coming to you by Biblical Training.org. I am linking you to
their site for each of the lessons. You will be exposed to some of the
finest Bible teachers in the country. You will receive Bible Institute
level training. Our session here is one of 7 lessons (one each week). This is Lesson 3 of 7, "Four Key Principles of Exegesis" from the module: Bible Study Methods with Dr. Mark Strauss as teacher. Click this LINK or the video lesson. Visit their website and see that there are
different levels for your involvement. By registering with them (free), you
can have access to outlines, transcripts, etc. If you choose to do more
than one lesson each week...go for it! Study at your pace!
HOPE FOR PARENTS: Click this LINK for the article, Mending Broken Lives.
ADVANCED DISCIPLESHIP: Click this LINK for the article, lesson 8 of 8 The Priests. The host for this series is Dr. Allen Ross. The series is entitled:..."The Religious World of Jesus".
HERE'S MY QUESTION: Are there different levels of commitment? Click on this LINK .
GRADUATE STUDIES: Humanity and Sin..."What is Man? Dichotomy..." This is Session 3 of 10 under Humanity and Sin. Click on this LINK . These are video lessons (they also have an audio version available on
the same page). At
the end of Dec. 2014, we started the Graduate Program over from the
beginning. These lessons are at an advanced, graduate level of study. If
you
missed any lessons previously, get them this time around. Heavy duty thinking required.
COUNSELING HELP: The category is Domestic Violence. Click this LINK for the article, Domestic Violence and Child Abuse. You may not need this, but have the link available so that you can share it with someone who does need it!
LEADERSHIP QUOTE: "Winning is not everything, but wanting to win is."
Vince Lombardi. Here is a humorous bonus by that great baseball player and philosopher, Yogi Berra,
to lighten your day: One day, Yogi was asked what he liked about school when he was young, Yogi replied: "When it's closed." I think that he may not be the only one with that thought.
My desire for you this week is that you press forward, wanting to win.
In His Majesty's service, Pastor Darrell.
