September 7, 2010... Training Materials

Greetings to each of you on this wonderful September morning. Both Fall and school are in the air!

PERSONAL NOTE: I want to thank all of you who ministered on Sunday morning... whether in the worship service or during the Sunday School hour. We had a beautiful together. Songs were sung, a message was given and needs were met. THANKS!

SPECIAL REMINDER: On September 18 and 19, we have an opportunity to be involved in a Holy Land Virtual Tour at Mayfair Bible Church in Flushing, MI. Mr. Raouf Karborani, a native of the Middle East, will be sharing his expertise in the culture, history and archaeology of the Bible lands. The program is divided into . Sessions 1 and 2 will be on Saturday evening... session 1 starts at 4 pm. At 6 pm. there will be a box lunch supper for pre-registered guests ( you may skip out if you wish to a restaurant). At 7 pm. we will have session 2. Session 3 will be held on Sunday afternoon at 3 pm. This will be the conclusion and wrap-up.

This is one of those once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so take advantage of it. Posters are around the Church with more detail. If you have any questions, please see me (Pastor).

EXTRA NOTE: I am scheduled to appear on Ask The Pastor again on September 27, 2010 at 2 pm.

BONUS BOOK RECOMMENDATION: Today's book recommendation is either the abridged version or the standard version of: Christian Theology by Millard J. Erickson (the abridged version is called, Introducing Christian Doctrine.) The full edition is a large, single volume, and is full of great information from a Baptist perspective. He also deals with other views as appropriate. I believe that every Bible teacher should have a good theology volume at hand... this is a good one. The Book is published by Baker Book House.

YOU CAN KNOW THE WILL OF GOD: The will of God revealed in Luke 12 and verse 4 is that we are not to be afraid of those who kill the body... in other words do not be afraid of men. Our concern should be with the One who not only deals in the physical realm, but also extends to the spiritual realm! Humans can only do temporary things... God can do eternal things. Understand that this is the will of God.
