June 6, 2016...Training Material

Greetings on this June 6th, Monday morning. I hope that you had a nice week. We are getting closer to VBS! Pray for our team. Happy birthday First Baptist Church...183! You don't look it! REMINDER: Our first concert of the Summer Concert Series is the 12th! "Rejoice" will start us off! Don't miss it.

PERSONAL NOTE: I want to thank everyone who assisted in preparation for the Sunday worship service along with the communion preparation. Thanks Linda Hittle, for the message in song. Thank you Choir, for your message in song.

LEADERSHIP APOLOGETICS: Click this LINK for our 72nd apologetics short video. I believe there is much to learn from these nationally recognized Christian teachers and philosophers. Today's lesson is "What does the Emergent Church believe?".

TRAINING THE TEACHER: My purpose here is to provide long-term biblical training for those who are in church work but may not feel adequately trained in the Bible and Christianity teaching in general. I want all of you to take this training (whether you teach or not) because it will better equip you to teach or live as a disciple of Christ. All of the material for this training is  coming to you by Biblical Training.org. I am linking you to their site for each of the lessons. You will be exposed to some of the finest Bible teachers in the country. You will receive Bible Institute level training. Our session here is one of 10 lessons (one each week). This is Lesson 6 of 10, "Work of Christ." from the module: Understanding Theology with Dr. Bruce Ware as teacher. Click this LINK for the video lesson. Visit their website and see that there are different levels for your involvement. By registering with them (free), you can have access to outlines, transcripts, etc. If you choose to do more than one lesson each week...go for it! Study at your pace.

HOPE FOR PARENTS: Click this LINK for the article, "Top 10 Risks for Teen Drivers."

ADVANCED DISCIPLESHIP: Click this LINK  for lesson 19 of a 24 lesson series entitled: Introduction to Islam.  Lesson 19 is: "Introduction, Titles and Life". (This is part of Folk Islam). The host for this series is Dr. Timothy Tennent. This is a much more extensive study of Islam than our previous essentials' study. I believe that you will profit greatly from this study.

HERE'S MY QUESTION: "In Mark 10:18 is Jesus implying that he is not God?" Click on this LINK . This question has great relevance to the American church especially.

GRADUATE STUDIES: This is Session 3 of 10 under Bibliology Hermeneutics. Click on this LINK . This lesson is "Transmission of Scripture". These are video lessons (they also have an audio version available on the same page). In March 2016, we started the Graduate Program over from the beginning again. These lessons are at an advanced, graduate level of study. If you missed any lessons previously, get them the next time around. You must put your thinking cap on for these studies. They are sometimes difficult, yet profitable. See the box for your choice of media...audio, video, download.

COUNSELING HELP: The category is Marital Affairs. Click this LINK for the article:"Abandoned by Spouse."

LEADERSHIP QUOTE: "Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first." Mark Twain. Here is a humorous bonus by that great (and now deceased) baseball player and philosopher, Yogi Berra, to lighten your day. This is from one of Yogi's family members, keeping up the tradition. Bridgette said: "Shut up and talk." What? Just like Yogi.

My desire for you this week is that you determine to be part of the solution.
In His Majesty's service, Pastor Darrell.
