Greetings on this April 25th, Monday morning.
PERSONAL NOTE:
I want to thank everyone who assisted in preparation for the Sunday
worship service. Thank you Bud Myers for the message in song. Thanks, Nikki and associates for the Mission's Sunday School hour...good work.
LEADERSHIP APOLOGETICS: Click this LINK for our 66th apologetics short video. I believe there is much to
learn from these nationally recognized Christian teachers and
philosophers. Today's lesson is "Scientific Evidence for Christianity".
TRAINING THE TEACHER: My purpose here is to provide long-term biblical training for those who are
in church work but may not feel adequately trained in the Bible and
Christianity teaching in general. I want all of you to take this
training (whether you teach or not) because it will better equip you to
teach or live as a disciple of Christ. All of the material for this
training is coming to you by Biblical Training.org. I am linking you to
their site for each of the lessons. You will be exposed to some of the
finest Bible teachers in the country. You will receive Bible Institute
level training. Our session here is one of 12 lessons (one each week). This is Lesson 12 of 12, "General Epistles, etc..." from the module: Understanding the New Testament with Dr. Craig Blomberg as teacher. Click this LINK for the video lesson. Visit their website and see that there are
different levels for your involvement. By registering with them (free), you
can have access to outlines, transcripts, etc. If you choose to do more
than one lesson each week...go for it! Study at your
pace.
HOPE FOR PARENTS: Click this LINK for the article, "Quick-Fix Parenting vs. Intentional Parenting"
ADVANCED DISCIPLESHIP: Click this LINK for lesson 13 of a 24 lesson series entitled: Introduction to Islam. Lesson 13 is: "Role of Tradition". The
host for this series is Dr. Timothy Tennent. This is a much more
extensive study of Islam than our previous essentials' study. I
believe that you will profit greatly from this study.
HERE'S MY QUESTION: "Did God become man after he was born or was he God in Mary’s womb?" Click on this LINK .
GRADUATE STUDIES: This is Session 7 of 10 under Introduction to Theology. Click on this LINK . This lesson is "Traditions in Christian Theology". Epistemology is the study of Knowledge. These are video lessons (they also have an audio version available on
the same page). In March 2016, we started the Graduate Program over from the
beginning again. These lessons are at an advanced, graduate level of study. If
you
missed any lessons previously, get them the next time around. You must put your thinking cap on for these studies. They are sometimes difficult, yet profitable.
COUNSELING HELP: The category is Marriage. Click this LINK for the article:"Alone in My Marriage."
LEADERSHIP QUOTE: "Pity is one of the noblest emotions available to human beings; self-pity is possibly the most ignoble...[it] is an incapacity, a crippling emotional disease that severely distorts our perception of reality...a narcotic that leaves its addicts wasted and derelict." Eugene Peterson. Here is a humorous bonus by that great (and now deceased) baseball player and philosopher, Yogi Berra,
to lighten your day. This
is from one of Yogi's family members, keeping up the tradition. Dale
said: "The similarities between my father and me are different." What? Just like Yogi.
My desire for you this week is that you exercise pity not self-pity!
In His Majesty's service, Pastor Darrell.
