Greetings on this October 12th, Monday morning.
PERSONAL NOTE:
I want to thank everyone who assisted in preparation for the Sunday
worship service. Thank you Junior choir, for the message in song. Thank you Jan Foltz for the solo message in song. I also want to thank everyone for the cards and the great cake we all had for Pastor Appreciation (Clergy) Sunday. It was greatly appreciated.
LEADERSHIP APOLOGETICS: Click this LINK for our 37th apologetics short video. I believe there is much to
learn from these nationally recognized Christian teachers and
philosophers. Today's lesson is "Objections to Christianity", part 6 of 8.
TRAINING THE TEACHER: My intent here is to provide long-term biblical training for those who are
in church work but may not feel adequately trained in the Bible and
Christianity teaching in general. I want all of you to take this
training (whether you teach or not) because it will better equip you to
teach or live as a disciple of Christ. All of the material for this
training is coming to you by Biblical Training.org. I am linking you to
their site for each of the lessons. You will be exposed to some of the
finest Bible teachers in the country. You will receive Bible Institute
level training. Our session here is one of 18 lessons (one each week). This is Lesson 2 of 18, "Genesis" from the module: Understanding the Old Testament with Dr. Paul House as teacher. Click this LINK for the video lesson. Visit their website and see that there are
different levels for your involvement. By registering with them (free), you
can have access to outlines, transcripts, etc. If you choose to do more
than one lesson each week...go for it! Study at your pace!
HOPE FOR PARENTS: Click this LINK for the article, "Lord, Liar, Lunatic".
ADVANCED DISCIPLESHIP: Click this LINK for lesson 6 of 9 "And Was Made Man". The host for this series is Dr. Allen Ross. The series is entitled:...Sound Doctrine: A Biblical Study of the Doctrines in the Nicene Creed.
HERE'S MY QUESTION: "Are we to forgive people if they are not repentant?" Click on this LINK .
GRADUATE STUDIES: "The Sex of Man: Egalitarianism". This is Session 9 of 10 under Humanity and Sin. Click on this LINK . These are video lessons (they also have an audio version available on
the same page). At
the end of Dec. 2014, we started the Graduate Program over from the
beginning. These lessons are at an advanced, graduate level of study. If
you
missed any lessons previously, get them this time around.
COUNSELING HELP: The category is Eating Disorders. Click this LINK for the article:"Curb Emotional Eating". You may not need this, but have the link available so that you can share it with someone who does need it...just be careful how you share it.
LEADERSHIP QUOTE: "Fatigue makes cowards of us all."
Vince Lombardi. Here is a humorous bonus by that great (and now deceased) baseball player and philosopher, Yogi Berra,
to lighten your day: One day, Yogi was asked what he thought of the opera Tosca. His response was: "I really liked it. Even the music was good." Yogi never lets us down.
My desire for you this week is that you be strong in your spiritual life.
In His Majesty's service, Pastor Darrell.
