Greetings on this September 14th Monday morning.
PERSONAL NOTE:
I want to thank everyone who assisted in preparation for the Sunday
worship service. Thank you Junior Choir for
the message in song...we really enjoyed it. That was a new song for me. Don't forget that this coming Sunday is the last of the Summer Concert series, featuring The Gospelmen.
Thanks you Sallie and Dale for your work on RALLY DAY. We had a great day!! I think that I am finally dry and warmed up from the dunk tank!
LEADERSHIP APOLOGETICS: Click this LINK for our 33rd apologetics short video. I believe there is much to
learn for these nationally recognized Christian teachers and
philosophers. Today's lesson is "Objections to Christianity", part 2 of 8.
TRAINING THE TEACHER: My intent here is to provide long-term biblical training for those who are
in church work but may not feel adequately trained in the Bible and
Christianity teaching in general. I want all of you to take this
training (whether you teach or not) because it will better equip you to
teach or live as a disciple of Christ. All of the material for this
training is coming to you by Biblical Training.org. I am linking you to
their site for each of the lessons. You will be exposed to some of the
finest Bible teachers in the country. You will receive Bible Institute
level training. Our session here is one of 7 lessons (one each week). This is Lesson 5 of 7, "Ten Steps for Exegesis", part 2 of 2. from the module: Bible Study Methods with Dr. Mark Strauss as teacher. Click this LINK for the video lesson. Visit their website and see that there are
different levels for your involvement. By registering with them (free), you
can have access to outlines, transcripts, etc. If you choose to do more
than one lesson each week...go for it! Study at your pace!
HOPE FOR PARENTS: Click this LINK for the article, "You Are God's Poetry".
ADVANCED DISCIPLESHIP: Click this LINK for lesson 2 of 8 "Introduction: I Believe". The host for this series is Dr. Allen Ross. The series is entitled:...Sound Doctrine: A Biblical Study of the Doctrines in the Nicene Creed.
HERE'S MY QUESTION: "Is spirit-controlled the same as spirit-filled?" Click on this LINK .
GRADUATE STUDIES: "How are People in the Image of God?" This is Session 5 of 10 under Humanity and Sin. Click on this LINK . These are video lessons (they also have an audio version available on
the same page). At
the end of Dec. 2014, we started the Graduate Program over from the
beginning. These lessons are at an advanced, graduate level of study. If
you
missed any lessons previously, get them this time around. Heavy duty thinking required.
COUNSELING HELP: The category is Domestic Violence. Click this LINK for the article, "Mentally Abusive Husband". You may not need this, but have the link available so that you can share it with someone who does need it!
LEADERSHIP QUOTE: "Winning is habit. Unfortunately, so is losing"
Vince Lombardi. Here is a humorous bonus by that great baseball player and philosopher, Yogi Berra,
to lighten your day: One day, Yogi was visiting with friends at a restaurant and he said: "Always go to other people's funerals, otherwise they won't go to yours." Now, take a moment and think about it.
My desire for you this week is that you practice winning.
In His Majesty's service, Pastor Darrell.
