Greetings to each of you on this end of April week.

PERSONAL NOTE: I trust that you had a very wonderful Easter season this year. I really enjoyed the services at the church ( Maundy Thursday and Resurrection Sunday). I want to thank all who participated in preparation and functioning of the services. Thanks Jan, for instrument assistance on Maundy Thursday. Thanks to those who prepared communion for M. T. Thank you Savior Singers for the song on Sunday. Thank you choir for the special Cantata selection. Thank you to all of the men who served the sunrise breakfast... Thanks guys... great job!

YOU CAN KNOW THE WILL OF GOD: In Second Corinthians chapter 9 and verse 7 it says: "Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give,...". The context of the passage is all about being part of God's work through the ministry of giving. The section just sited says that our giving should be thought out and decisive. It should also be based upon a concept of sowing seed... stingy with the sown seed and little will be reaped. If I am generous with the sown seed then the reaping will be bountiful. Each one of us should see our giving as "ministry" to the souls of the world. Change your thoughts, change your world!

Greetings to each of you on a wintry, April morning... it's not funny! PERSONAL NOTE: I want to thank everyone who helped make Palm Sunday a wonderful experience for the entire congregation. I believe that everyone enjoyed the choir presentation of "Come to the Cross". I share my personal thanks to our choir for a fine presentation. I can not imagine someone not enjoying the cantata. Thank you goes out to Dee Wilson and all of the musicians and singers who had a part whether it was being part of the group, readers, soloists, or sound booth operators. Great Job!!! Special appreciation goes out to the Teen Quiz Team for their victory of coming in fourth place in the Teens Involved competition a few days ago. They will move on to the next level. Greetings to you all on this typical April day. PERSONAL NOTE: I wish to thank The King's Kids for their music in the worship service. It is always a pleasure to have our children minister to us as a congregation. I also thank Mr. Bud for his rendition of "Watch the Lamb". Thanks Bud... that song always grabs me! REMEMBER: April 20, 2011... Children's Easter Party... April 17 is the Cantata... April 21 is the Maundy Thursday service at 7 pm... April 24 is Easter Sunday starting with a sunrise breakfast at 8 am. and ending with a great Resurrection Sunday service. Don't forget to bring your Sunday Attendance Builder guests. The teaching here and in other places concerning giving is that we must be able to give to the Lord using the guide, "in keeping with his income. The general rule in scripture is that everyone should give proportionately. As a rule of thumb, for example, 10% of $1000 is $100... but if I only made $100 then 10% would be $10. This is an example of proportionate giving... and it honors the Lord's word. In this example, both givers are doing what is right. What are you doing? YOU CAN KNOW THE WILL OF GOD: II Corinthians, chapter 9 and verses 6-7 teach on the subject of giving financially to the Lord's work. Please note the section, "...whoever sows generously will also reap generously." The will of God is clear and it indicates that God intends for His children to be generous. The application of this verse would cover all types of church ministry outreach, whether it is in evangelistic efforts or in serving the poor... it is the will of God that His people be generous.
