I bring you greetings on this cool yet sunny spring morning.
PERSONAL NOTE: As Pastor, I felt that yesterday's service was very God-honoring. I extend my sympathy to all who have cared for little Katie over her short life span. Death is always difficult, but especially so in the death of one so young.
As I sat on the platform, the Lord brought to my mind the passage in John chapter 9, where Jesus healed the blind man of his infirmity. He informed the crowd there that this man's problem was, "... so that the work of God might be displayed in his life." I believe that was also true with Katie.
I was pleased with the Sunday afternoon turn-out to our concert with The Calvarymen (plus the first lady). Your response in attendance and the love offering was great! We had 137 people at the concert... the most so far! I want to thank the Calvarymen for giving us a great concert while they were had some personnel issues due to illness and transition. I appreciated their ministry. A special thank you to Rick and associates for the ice cream social after the concert... good work!
May 20, 2009 is our closing WOL program in the main auditorium at 6 PM. Let me take this opportunity to thank all of our workers for the precious time spent with the children and teens. It is time intensive, but well worth all of the effort. There will be no adult Bible study that evening. We want everyone to share in the closing program.

YOU CAN KNOW GOD'S WILL: God's will for all of His saints is that we should, "Love one another deeply". This is clearly expressed as a command in I Peter 1: 22. Loving one another is a cornerstone concept in Christianity. Jesus made it clear in scripture that people would know that we are his disciples based on the fact that we love one another (John 13: 34).

Until next time,
Pastor Darrell
