PERSONAL NOTE: I want to thank all of you who were involved in the operations of Sunday's service. A special thanks to Dee Wilson for the special music... good job. I appreciated Rick's comments concerning Memorial Day... they were very appropriate. We ask God's blessing upon all families who have lost a loved one in combat. A special thanks to our Church people who have served in the military... THANKS!
I want to thank all of our WOL leaders for all of their hard work throughout the year with our children. It is a job well done. I also want to congratulate all of the kids who received awards on Wednesday the 20th. I was very pleased for our kids and all of their hard work. Again... well done!

YOU CAN KNOW GOD'S WILL: God's will for all Christians is" To get rid of malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy and slander." (I Peter 2: 1). This command is given for all of us to obey. Our life as believers should express the positives of Christian living... not the negatives of the flesh. Let's make every effort to rid ourselves of the deeds of the flesh.

May 18... Training Materials
I bring you greetings on this cool yet sunny spring morning.
PERSONAL NOTE: As Pastor, I felt that yesterday's service was very God-honoring. I extend my sympathy to all who have cared for little Katie over her short life span. Death is always difficult, but especially so in the death of one so young.
As I sat on the platform, the Lord brought to my mind the passage in John chapter 9, where Jesus healed the blind man of his infirmity. He informed the crowd there that this man's problem was, "... so that the work of God might be displayed in his life." I believe that was also true with Katie.
I was pleased with the Sunday afternoon turn-out to our concert with The Calvarymen (plus the first lady). Your response in attendance and the love offering was great! We had 137 people at the concert... the most so far! I want to thank the Calvarymen for giving us a great concert while they were had some personnel issues due to illness and transition. I appreciated their ministry. A special thank you to Rick and associates for the ice cream social after the concert... good work!
May 20, 2009 is our closing WOL program in the main auditorium at 6 PM. Let me take this opportunity to thank all of our workers for the precious time spent with the children and teens. It is time intensive, but well worth all of the effort. There will be no adult Bible study that evening. We want everyone to share in the closing program.

YOU CAN KNOW GOD'S WILL: God's will for all of His saints is that we should, "Love one another deeply". This is clearly expressed as a command in I Peter 1: 22. Loving one another is a cornerstone concept in Christianity. Jesus made it clear in scripture that people would know that we are his disciples based on the fact that we love one another (John 13: 34).

The next big events on our Church calendar are The Car Show on June 7 at 2-5 PM... and VBS the week of June 15th-19th. The theme is "Crocodile Doc". It will be a great week!
Until next time,
Pastor Darrell

MAY 11... TRAINING MATERIALS
Greetings to you on this cool Monday morning in Grand Blanc, Michigan. I came back from vacation in Florida last Monday where it was in the 80s with nice humidity... plus my furnace went out over the weekend! Oh well, I hope that this week is better... plus my furnace should be up and running.
PERSONAL NOTE: It was great to be able to celebrate Mother's Day with all of you at FBC. We had a great time of worship and refreshing from the Word of God. I want to thank Bud and the Savior Singers for their song during the service... Great job Bud and kids! Thanks to Cindy for helping me pass out the prints as gifts to the moms. Once again, happy 13th birthday to Seth and "Sam"antha!
Remember that Sunday the 17th we will have the kick-off of our summer concert series at 4PM. with Michigan's own CALVARYMEN QUARTET. Make sure that you plan to be here and bring a guest. This is a great time to share your faith and Church with a friend. I know that the Calvarymen will do a fine job of sharing the Gospel in music!

YOU CAN KNOW GOD'S WILL: Let me draw your attention to I Peter 1:17,where the Apostle Peter, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit says that God's will for us is: Live as strangers here. That simply means that we need to understand where our real citizenship is located and live for that place... not being caught up in the desires of this world. This is God's will!

Please note that through the summer and on into the fall we will have four (4) special musical concerts here at First Baptist Church of Grand Blanc. Each will be held at Sunday at 4PM. on the following dates: May 17, July 12, August 23, and September 27. We will be having a variety of musicians from male quartets and trios, to family groups. Each group comes to us on a love offering basis. I hope that you will take advantage of these opportunities to share a witness for Christ by inviting others to join you for these events.
Have a great week. In Christ, Pastor Darrell.
