YOU CAN KNOW THE WILL OF GOD: In Jude verse 3, the Apostle writes that "... I felt I had to write and urge you to contend for the faith...". The passage in context was given to rouse the saints and cause them to exercise great effort in defending the body of Christian truth that had thus far been revealed. It needed to be done in order to counter the false teachers in their midst. Today, we must be aware of the same problems that the early Church struggled against. We must contend for the faith!

LEADERSHIP QUOTE: "Somehow I can't believe that there are any heights that can't be scaled by a man who knows the secrets of making dreams come true. This special secret, it seems to me, can be summarized in four Cs. They are curiosity, confidence, courage, and constancy, and greatest of all is confidence. When you believe in a thing, believe in it all the way, implicitly and unquestionable." Walt Disney

February 22, 2011 Training Materials

Greetings on this sunny but snowy day. When is spring?

PERSONAL NOTE: I want to thank everyone who pitched in during my Sunday absence at Church. Let's just say I was having a bad few days health wise. It was painful... but hopefully we will work our way through it. Thank you everyone who had to take up the slack... Thanks Bobby, for stepping in and speaking for me on short notice. It is much appreciated. Mighty thanks goes to my wife, Jan, for all of her efforts on my behalf. She came to my rescue.

Continue to pray that I will get relief and make a recovery.

YOU CAN KNOW THE WILL OF GOD: In Philippians chapter 2 and verse 14 it says, "Do everything without complaining or arguing,". The context indicates that he is talking about the day by day process of living out our salvation experience. We have choices to make. We can either chose wisely or make dumb mistakes. Let's chose to follow the scriptures when it comes to daily living.

February 14, 2011... Training Materials

Greetings to each of you on this Valentine's Day!

PERSONAL NOTE: I want to thank everyone who assisted in yesterday's worship service. Your participation makes it all possible. Thanks, Bud Myers for your special number. We also appreciate the people behind the scenes that make it all possible. A special thanks to the King's Kids for the song they brought (even though they were short handed).

The choir will be instituting a Choral Call to Worship on a regular basis. They started yesterday. Thanks!

YOU CAN KNOW THE WILL OF GOD: In First Corinthians, chapter 10 and verse 31 it says: "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." Please compare Col. 3:17 and verse 23 with this passage. Of course, the context of chapter 10 has to do with mundane things like eating and drinking... although it is set (see verse 29) in a religious, pagan context. Paul's teaching is clearly that our entire life is designed to glorify God... even the seemingly mundane details. This is the will of God for each of us. Let's do what we do for the glory of God... or maybe not do it at all. Now that may require some thinking!

February 7, 2011... Training Materials

Greetings to each of you on this very wintry and snowy day... is it ever going to stop snowing?

PERSONAL NOTES: I want to thank the men and women who set up and serve communion. Your service is greatly appreciated.

We postponed the evening prayer gathering until next week (13th) at 6:30 pm. I hope that you will join us for prayer time.

Remember me in prayer today as I will be on Ask The Pastor at 2 pm. Pray that the answers will be helpful and biblical.

This weekend coming is the Camp Lael Elementary Winter Retreat. Pray for our kids and adults who will be going.

Our next big event is our Missions Conference in March. Plan now to attend and begin to think about what you are going to give to missions this year. The dates are March 9-13, 2011. This Year's theme is : "Showers of Blessings".

Remember that our new budget was voted upon at the last business meeting and we need to be aware of the requirements to meet it each month. We will need $16,800 each month to cover the 2011 budget. We praise the Lord that this past year we ended the year in the black. Thanks goes to God for His blessing and our church leaders for their monitoring efforts.

MONTHLY BOOK RECOMMENDATION: This month I want to recommend Willmington's Complete Guide to Bible Knowledge: The Life of Christ, by Harold L. Willmington. This book was published by Tyndale House Publishers. I have found great benefit by any of Willmington's writings. Dr. Elmer Towns in the Forward says, "... We need this book, and since Harold Willmington is the best person to write it, I highly recommend this work to you." I do to. It has some great outlining and summaries that will be of great help to the teacher especially. Get it if you can.

HELPING CHILDREN: Please click on this LINK in order to read and download the article, The Positive Conclusion: Making Discipline Times Constructive.

YOU CAN KNOW THE WILL OF GOD: In First Peter 2 and verse 2 we see this: "Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that you may grow up in your salvation,". The emphasis of the text is on the Word of God. The writer says that we are to crave the Word of God like a bay craves milk from his mother. The implication of the passage also indicates that if we don't desire the Word of God in our lives, we will stunt our growth as Christians. This is absolutely true. This verse declares the will of God for you.

LEADERSHIP QUOTE: "Here, then, is the real problem of our negligence. We fail in our duty to study God's Word, not so much because it is difficult to understand, not so much because it is dull and boring, but because it is work. Our problem is not a lack of intelligence or a lack of passion. Our problem is that we are lazy." R. C. Sproul
