I trust that each of you checking out the site today had a great week and Sunday serving the Lord.
PERSONAL NOTE: I thought that I would mention a couple of items. First, I want to thank everyone who came out to the quarterly business meeting on the 24th of September. We accomplished alot and we were done in an hour! WOW!!! That is great!
Next, I want to thank our musicians again for their hard work and dedication to bringing you the best that we can. A special thanks to Mr. Bud and the Savior Singers. It was a great job! Everyone was truly blessed.
Last, a special thanks to Soul's Harbor for the afternoon concert on the 27th. We pray that God will continue to bless their ministry.

September 21... Training Materials
Greetings to you on this dismal Monday morning. I pray that you will have a great week.
PERSONAL NOTE: I want to thank everyone who made yesterdays' service possible. It always takes the work of many people in order for things to go right. Thank you to Sue Warner and the kids for singing in the service. We always appreciate their participation.
On a sad note, I just learned that my youth leader, who was a vital part of my growing-up years, passed away this weekend. She was living in Sebring, Florida. Peggy Hudson Shaleen will be missed by her family and others greatly. Our prayers are with them.

BONUS THEOLOGY ARTICLE: Please click on this LINK in order to read and download this weeks article: "Can Christians Become too Heavenly Minded?"
YOU CAN KNOW GOD'S WILL: In I Peter 3:14, we read God's command that we are to have no fear of persecutors. This is God's will for us. One needs to understand that those who persecute can only hurt our bodies, not our spirit. If we pay the ultimate price for our faith, we will only be ushered into the presence of the Lord sooner rather than later. The apostle Paul saw this as a WIN situation. So should we. Always remember that "great" is our reward in Heaven.
LEADERSHIP QUOTE: "Everyone dies, but not everyone fully lives. Too many people are having a "near-life experience"." Author Unknown.

September 14... Training Materials
Greetings to you all on this beautiful September day. The "summer" weather we have had the last few days has been tremendous. I look forward to more!
PERSONAL NOTE: We, at First Baptist, had a wonderful day Sunday (13th of September) with Greg Kelley of World Mission out of Grand Rapids, Michigan. I rejoice over the check we were able to give toward "the Treasure" for evangelization efforts in the foreign fields. We gave the missions trip money from about a year ago (South Africa trip that due to unrest did not materialize). It amounted to slightly over $4,100.00. This allowed us to purchase and send about 100 "Treasures" (electronic audio devices) to people groups that are oral languages only people. These devices will be shared in small groups (12 or so) where the listeners hear the Bible in their own language. PRAISE THE LORD FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION! This is evangelism, pure and simple. The money could not be better spent. Many people will come to Christ as a direct result of our participation.
I want to especially thank Greg Kelley for coming and sharing with us this very exciting opportunity for outreach. We look forward to an ongoing relationship with World Mission.

YOU CAN KNOW GOD"S WILL: In I Peter 3:9 we have the statement that we, as believers, are to BLESS OTHERS. This is God's will for each of us... we should bless others, not curse others. Try it this week.

September 8... Training Materials
Greetings to all of you on this September morn. WOW!!! Where has the summer gone? It is now time for all kids to head back to school for another season of study. I am pretty sure that all of the kids (well, OK... some of the kids) are ready to get back to the routine.
PERSONAL NOTE: I want to thank everyone who was involved in the working of Sunday's worship service. The message spoke to many people... which is what we want God's Word to do. Thanks to our men who assisted in the Communion fellowship... and to the ladies who prepared it. Thanks also to our platform musicians and sound people for your ongoing service.
A special thanks to Elizabeth Warner for the very nice offertory. Great job, Elizabeth. I look forward to your next special.
REMINDER: Sunday, September 13th, Greg Kelley will be with us from World Mission (Grand Rapids). He will be speaking to us on the "Abraham Project" and we will be making a special presentation to him. This is going to be a great fall kickoff Sunday!
Don't forget, on Sunday, September 27th, we will have a Fall Music Concert with Souls Harbor... a trio from Adrian, Michigan. We look forward to their participation. The concert is scheduled for 4 PM. here at First Baptist. We will take a freewill offering for them to help offset their expenses and assist their ministry in the future.

LEADERSHIP TRAINING FEATURED ARTICLE: Please click on this LINK in order to read and download the article: Evangelism for the Ordinary Church.
BONUS THEOLOGY ARTICLE: Is All Scripture Inspired by God? Please click on this LINK to read and download the article.
BOOK RECOMMENDATION: Please take the opportunity to check on the book by Renald Showers entitled: Maranatha Our Lord, Come. It is subtitled with: A Definitive Study of the Rapture of the Church. I know that you will find it helpful... especially the Jewish marriage analogy, starting on page 164. Check it out.
YOU CAN KNOW GOD'S WILL: God's will is expressed clearly through scriptures to us. In I Peter chapter 3 and verse 9, the Lord tells us that it is His will that we do not return reviling for reviling. It means don't slander or speak evil of someone who may have done exactly that to you. Think about that... this is God's will for you.
