Thank you Bud, for your song Sunday. A job well done! Congratulations to the Church family on the special recognition that Rev. Ron Carry bestowed upon us for our 2008 missions' giving. It was great!

April 20...Weekly Training Materials

Welcome to this blog on a rainy Michigan day. Remember, April showers bring May flowers. I hope that you find this page valuable. We at First Baptist had a great Sunday service. The Lord clearly spoke to us through His Word... for that I am grateful.

PERSONAL NOTE: I want to thank all of our Women's Ministry group and the Mary Martha ladies who sponsored and participated in the Carriage Town Ministries' shower this past Saturday. To call it a great success is an understatement! Ladies, you did some wonderful work by bringing piles and piles of new clothes for the less fortunate who are under three years old. I am sure that Carriage Town Ministries was blown away by what they received. The Lord is glad for your care and I am proud of you. Praise The Lord! WOW!!!

I want to thank Cindy Mass for sharing a song with us Sunday morning. THANKS!

I would also let you know that the next two blogs (April 27 and May 4) will be posted at different times than usual. The April 27 blog will be up earlier and the May 4 blog will be up one day late. I appreciate you indulgence on this, but I will be out of the office on both of those Mondays.

April 13... Weekly Training Materials

Greetings to you all on this spring (I think) morning in Michigan, the water wonderland! We begin this work week after a very busy holy week. We had many opportunities to serve the Lord this last week with great joy... even though it was very full.

PERSONAL NOTE: Please allow me to begin by saying a mighty thank you to all who have been involved with the Easter week preparations. Without the ladies who set things up and the men who provided the cooking for the Sunday breakfast, we would not have had as successful a time.

Deaconess ladies receive a special thanks for two communion set-ups during this last week. Thank you, Terry and Ernie, for the great breakfast on Sunday morning... it was great! Thank you, Rick (and choir) for the extra music that was produced this last week. Thank you to the many who participated in the flowers that were provided... it was beautiful. I don't want to forget the many individuals who are behind the scenes (and that includes MaryAnn) and yet are necessary to get the job done... thanks!

April 6... Weekly Training Materials

Greetings on this very snowy day in April... not very funny! Welcome to Michigan, the winter wonderland! Oh well, we are off and running on this day that the Lord has made.

PERSONAL NOTE: Allow me the opportunity to thank the choir and our other musicians for making yesterday a great Palm Sunday. I want to thank all of the scripture readers for their participation along with Bud's solo/video presentation. I thought that the morning was a great time of worship and adoration. Praise God.

I want to remind you of all of the events of this holy week. Wednesday we have our regular evening service; Thursday at 7 PM., we will enjoy a Maundy Thursday service; Friday we will celebrate Good Friday at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church... our time slot is from about 2 to 3 PM. Don't forget Easter Sunday... it starts with breakfast at 8 AM. It is a busy week but an exciting week as we celebrate what Jesus did for each of us.

I want to congratulate our children workers for a very successful children's Easter party last Wednesday. There were over 90 (it looked like 500) involved in it! W-O-W! Great job leaders. A mighty "thank you" is given to all who were involved.
