Greetings to you all on this very nice summer morning.
PERSONAL NOTE: I don't know about you, but I enjoyed yesterday's Sunday worship service. Two things were special: first the scramble song selections, and second, the duet by Rich Brotemarkle and Alan Aron. Great job guys! I believe that everyone was blessed by the selection.
I want to encourage you now to prepare for the last in our summer concert series on August 29, 2010 at 4 pm. We will feature Heaven's Call. They are a mixed group from Palos Heights, IL.
Plan now to decide who you will invite to this concert. Take your guests out for some ice cream after the concert (or something similar). This is a great opportunity for our Church family to do very simple outreach. Take advantage of the concert.
Event Notice: On September 18 and 19 we will have something very special in the area. I have been in contact with Mayfair Bible Church concerning a "Virtual Tour of the Holy Land" that they will be sponsoring. We will have the opportunity to get in on this activity if we choose. I personally will be involved.
If you have ever wanted to go to Israel, but never had the time or money, this is going to be a great event. I am waiting for more information, but it will be a Saturday afternoon/evening and part 3 on Sunday at 3 pm. It will cover such things as geography, locations, events, culture, etc. The event will be led by Mr. Raouf Karborani, a native of the Middle East and an Israeli Ministry of Tourism certified guide.
Mark these dates down now. I will have more to share in the days ahead. This could be the next best thing to a trip there. WOW!

To Timothy, it says be an example in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity. This should be true for all of us... especially our leaders. Remember... this is the will of God for you.

Greetings on this warm summer day. I trust that you will have a fine day.
PERSONAL NOTE: I want to thank everyone who made Sunday a great day of worship. I hope that your ministry was effective.
I want to thank Jan Foltz for the special music that she shared with us. I also want to thank Mark and Andrea Forester for their ministry to us Sunday afternoon at 4 pm.
7/20/10 Post-Concert Note... I thought that The Foresters did a wonderful job in concert. I enjoyed their music and their humor. I heard several comment on the concert. Mark and Andrea... you were a blessing. My only regret is that we did not have a bigger crowd to enjoy it.
Please remember me in prayer when I am on ASK THE PASTOR today at 2 pm. Pray that all panel members will have good answers.

We are to live our lives daily free of worry over things that we can do nothing about. This is the command of the Lord.

July 12, 2010... Training Materials
Greetings to you all on a dismal, humid morning. Boy, that was a negative way to start. Let me try again... Greetings to you all on this, the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it! There, that's better.
PERSONAL NOTE: For those of you who were in attendance yesterday, we felt the presence of the Lord throughout the service. I rejoice with those who came forward for special prayer.
I want to thank Elizabeth Warner for playing her clarinet for the worship service. A job well done. Thanks Elizabeth.
I would remind you that this coming Sunday at 4 pm. is our 3rd summer concert with Mark & Andrea Forester. They will be sharing a Christian concert with us. We will receive a free-will love offering for them to thank them and assist their ministry efforts. I encourage everyone to get behind these events and see them as opportunities to do personal outreach. Here's how: invite a friend or several friends. They will have a chance to see our Church, hear the Gospel in song and have an opportunity to be challenged in their spiritual lives. Let's use these events!
I want to remind you that I will be on ASK THE PASTOR, July 12 and 19 at 2 pm. on channel 49 (cable channel 10) in Saginaw. Remember to pray for me that my answers to questions will be good and right on.
A special thank you to the LOYAL LIGHTS class for providing the new drinking fountain in the fellowship hall. I have already used it... Ahhhhh.

YOU CAN KNOW THE WILL OF GOD: In the Book of Ephesians, chapter 5 and verse 18 we see the command to be filled with the Spirit. Notice that the concept is not spelled out well which leads me to conclude that they were aware of how this is accomplished. Watch the context very carefully and you will see a contrast between negative things and positive things. It seems to involve a lifestyle demonstration. The author is indicating that our control should not come from the flesh but from the Holy Spirit. We must act, demonstrating godliness in our daily lives. Rather then live for the flesh, we should live for the Spirit. Godliness must be the controlling factor... not our lusts. By practicing this we will be acting out the will of God.

July 6, 2010... Training Materials
Greetings to you all on this very warm summer day. I trust that you had a wonderful 4th of July holiday... I know that the Foltz family did. We all gathered at my daughters place in Grand Rapids for a great time. I was the Grill Master and it was good!
PERSONAL NOTE: I want to thank the VBS staff and all of the kids who were involved in the "Operation Kid-To-Kid Blankets" that were blessed Sunday to go with other churches who also participated, in order to supply them to kids in Africa, etc. who need protection from the elements and specific supplies necessary. THANKS goes out to our kids for their giving hearts!
Thanks Rich, for sharing the song you did Sunday. It is one of my all time favorites. I also want to thank all of the men who served communion and the ladies who prepared it. A job well done!
Begin to make plans now for the July 18, 2010 concert featuring Mark and Andrea Forester. This should be a great rousing time of song and praise to the Lord. Go out of your way now to begin to invite some friends with you to the concert. After the concert, take them out for coffee or ice cream... use your imagination! This is a great opportunity for OUTREACH... get involved... watch the Lord work through you!

In order to keep this command, we will have to exert much effort and rely upon the Holy Spirit. If you fail, remember to ask forgiveness. Forgiveness is a key ingredient in all of life.
