PERSONAL NOTE:

• CEF Director, Mark Alberts will be speaking at the Wed., April 28th service.
• Please note that Exec. Director, Dallas Gatlin of Carriage Town Ministries will be with us on Sunday, May 2, 2010.
• During the month of May, I will begin a new series for Sunday messages from the Book of Acts.
• May 20th will be the last ABC men's fellowship of the summer. It will be at Christ Community Church (former Third Ave. Baptist).
• June 20th will be the closing season program for WOL. No adult Bible study due to program.
• VBS is June 21 - 25th.
• Summer Concert series will involve these next groups: Reconciled Quartet, June 27... Mark and Andrea Forester, July 18... Heaven's Call, August 29. All concerts are at 4 pm. and we will receive a love offering for the groups. Make plans now to use these concerts as an outreach tool. Who are you going to invite?

Patience is probably a universal problem for Christians... but we need to realize that God desires that we be patient with one another. It may not be easy, but it is God's revealed will.

PERSONAL NOTE: I want to thank everyone who made Sunday the great worship service that it was. In case you did not notice, I finished up our series on the Book of Daniel. On the second Sunday in June I will begin a series on the Book of Acts. This will be a great study of the foundations of the Church. Don't miss it!

April 12, 2010... Training Materials

Greetings on this very pleasant Monday morning in Grand Blanc.

PERSONAL NOTE: First, I want to thank everyone from the Faith Fellowship class who went with us to Fowlerville in order to work at the Christian Resources Intl. The 18 who went had a great time of fellowship and we got a lot of work done for the mission. GOOD JOB,CLASS!

Next,the Sunday morning worship service was a great time of gathering around God's Word and looking intently at Matthew chapter 24. It was especially great to have one person to respond to the invitation for salvation. Praise the Lord! Thanks, Sam for your part in it.

We are looking forward to the Men's Fellowship here at the Church on Thursday, April 15, 2010. Let me thank everyone who will be helping ahead of time. Bro. Leroy DeMasselis will be our guest speaker for this.

EXTRA NOTE: Be working and praying now for our kick-off for the summer concert series on April 25 at 4 pm. We will feature "REJOICE" in concert and we will receive a love offering for them. Who are you going to invite?

April 5, 2010... Training Materials

Welcome and greetings to you on this lovely April morning. I pray that you will have a wonderful day.

PERSONAL NOTE: We just came through the biggest week of holy days on the calendar for those of us who are Christians: Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. I want to thank everyone who helped in the Maundy Thursday service... your help made it a wonderful time.

Let me thank everyone who was involved in the Easter (Resurrection Sunday) service. First, I thank the Men and staff of the kitchen who served the breakfast... it was great guys! Second, thanks goes out to Mary and Dan for table decorations... nice center piece crosses Dan. Third, I want to thank Rich and the choir for a job well done... and thanks to those who had special solo parts (as well as readings)... Rich, Jan, Dee and Sue. It made a great service. The Lord was blessed and so were His people.

The message that we all take home from Easter is that HE IS RISEN!!!

EXTRA NOTE: I will be on ASK THE PASTOR today at 2 pm. Remember me in prayer that the answers that I give will be God-honoring and correct. Pray for the other guys too.

It covers things such as cultural and historical settings, people, places and events. It also covers many topics brought up by the text. It has charts, photos, drawings and maps. If you find the need for a single volume on the subject... this is it. I recommend it for your library.

YOU CAN KNOW THE WILL OF GOD: The Book of Matthew reveals the will of God concerning two areas in chapter 10 and verse 16. It reveals that the believer should be wise as serpents and harmless (innocent) as doves. Now, on the surface this seems strange, yet let me make a few observations. First, notice that the subject is persecution from "wolves". This is a message from the Lord to his disciples concerning how they should react and respond to circumstances. Be wise concerning your situations, yet at the same time make sure that your response is not one of anger but calmness and innocence. If one is to be accused of things, let them not be from hatred. Let's be accused of loving and caring. This is clearly the will of God for you.
