Greetings to you all on a nice sunny July day. I trust that you had a blessed Sunday yesterday... I know that I did. It was great to have the Myers' clan here yesterday to help celebrate Dick and Rita Myers' 70th wedding anniversary. WOW!!! This is a great example for all of us "young" whippersnappers.
PERSONAL NOTE: Yesterday (Sunday), we had some special guests to help us in our worship service. I want to congratulate Julian Mai for receiving his God and Country Scout award from Tall Pines Council Chaplain, Dale Keene. Julian worked hard to earn this badge and we are proud of him. I also want to thank Maynard Guild (from the Myers' clan) for bringing the special music for us during the service. Your music was greatly appreciated.
I want to make a confession to all of you at this time. Yes, it is true that Pastor Darrell turns 61 on July 28th. YES, YES, I confess! My family celebrated it on this past Saturday and they were very generous to me with gifts of gold, frankincense... no wait a minute... I mean a new microphone, drill and cash. WOW! We had a great birthday celebration. I think it should be a week long event... oh well, that is just my opinion.
I would encourage all of you to plan on being at First Baptist Church for the final summer concert coming on August 23. We will be featuring a group from Port Huron called REJOICE. This is a ladies' group made up of 6 talented individuals. I know that you will enjoy them. Let me encourage you now to decide who and how many you are going to invite and bring to the concert. Use the opportunity as an outreach tool. You and they will be blessed!

YOU CAN KNOW GOD'S WILL: If you turn in your Bible to I Peter 2, verse 17, you will see that Peter commands under inspiration that each believer honor the King. In context, Peter has been talking of our treatment of one another. Our attitude should be submission, do good, show respect, love, fear and honor. This is the will of God.

It was great to be able to participate in the baptism of 4 individuals at the end of the message. It is wonderful to share in this experience with God's people. Those of you who were baptised, congratulations and blessings upon you. Now, continue to grow in your spiritual walk.

July 13... Training Material
Greetings to you all on this sunny yet cool Monday morning in Grand Blanc, Mi.
PERSONAL NOTES: I thought that yesterday's services were wonderful. I really felt God's presence in power during the AM. worship time. Those of you who were at the afternoon concert with the Thurston Family really experienced a great gospel concert! I was very pleased with this family. They provided great music and a desire to minister to people. If you missed it... you missed it. Thanks, Thurston Family... job well done.
It was good to hear from our missionary, Beth Thompson in the AM. service. We wish you well Beth. I have a little better understanding of what you do and how you do it. Special thanks to the Missions Com. for their work concerning Beth's visit.
I want to thank Bud Myers for extra duty concerning the Thurston Family's arrival and set-up. Thanks Bud!

July 6... Training Materials
Greetings on this very nice, sunny day here in Grand Blanc. I trust that your day will go well and be profitable.
PERSONAL NOTES: There are two things that I want to share with you at this time. First, I was very pleased with the worship service that we shared yesterday. The message was well received. I appreciated all who participated in the special prayer for Pete Mass as he prepares for the transplants that are deemed necessary. It was good to set aside that time and have friends gather in prayer for one of our members.
Second, July the 12th will be our second concert of the summer. Make sure that you are planning on attending and that you are already in contact with those who you will be inviting. We will have the Thurston Family here at 4 PM. for a great concert. I know that you will enjoy this and it is a great opportunity to introduce someone to First Baptist Church (and maybe even to the Lord). Bring out your whole family and friends. There is no ticket charge but we will receive a special love offering for the Thurstons.
FUTURE EVENTS: July 19th... Baptism during the service (4 candidates). July 22nd... missionary Tim Holgren will be with us at 6:15 PM. Make sure that you come out to support Tim and find out first hand what he has been doing. August 23rd... we will have our last of the summer concerts with Rejoice from Port Huron. I know that you will enjoy this ladies group. It will be at 4 PM. We will receive a love offering for them.

YOU CAN KNOW GOD'S WILL: God's will for you is clearly laid out in I Peter 2:17, where the Lord reveals that we are to show proper respect to everyone. We are God's servants during our journey here on this earth. Let us act accordingly.
BOOK RECOMMENDATION: This month's recommendation is for the book entitled: Topical Analysis Of The Bible by Walter Elwell, Editor. I have used this book in my ministry with much benefit... you can too.
