First, I send greetings to you all on this cold February day... but the sun is shining! Be thankful for small things.
PERSONAL NOTE: Let me take this opportunity to thank Tom Cunningham for leading the music yesterday. It is very helpful to have you there, Tom. Next, let me say thanks to Dee for your help in leading both the choir and singing a great song for our special music. Our morning worship service was God-honoring.

February 9... Weekly Training Materials
Greetings to you on a much improved weather day in Michigan!
PERSONAL NOTE: I was reviewing Sunday with our Youth and Music minister and we both concluded that it was a "powerful" day! Thanks Bud, for the great solo. Thanks Curtis, for the well run and informative teacher's session at noon... it was very helpful.
I thought that you might like to know that we had a nice turnout for our 4 PM. concert with the Royalheirs. We had 104 in attendance and we provided the quartet with a very nice love offering. I enjoyed the concert and felt that the songs and the testimonies were just what we needed to hear. Good job Royalheirs!
This last Friday, at 2 PM., I was on the panel of ASK THE PASTOR on WAQP in Saginaw. I felt the program was very good with calls from all over the country. Most of our time was spent answering people concerning Bible verse questions. Some were complicated and some were easy... but all were answered.
MONTHLY AUDIO: Please see Feb. 2 blog for the link.
LEADERSHIP TRAINING FEATURED ARTICLE: Click in this LINK to download, read and save this article. It is entitled: New Testament Principles of Leadership. I know that you will find it interesting and challenging.
LEADERSHIP PRINCIPLES BONUS SECTION: This LINK will provide you with a list of General Douglas MacArthur's list of questions to guide in leadership duties. General MacArthur was known as a brilliant strategist and a fine administrator (even though he was a tad over-the-top in flamboyance).
QUESTION OF THE WEEK: How can a Christian endure Trials? Please click on this LINK to read the article from James chapter 2 on, "Benefiting from Life's trials". I know that you will find it helpful.

"HOW TO HANDLE A HOSTILE WORLD": Please click on this LINK.
TODAY'S LEADERSHIP QUOTE: This week's quote is from Dwight D. Eisenhower: "You do not lead by hitting people over the head - that's assault, not leadership."

February 2... Weekly Training Materials
Greetings to you all on this sunny and not so depressing, Monday! The groundhog says 6 more weeks but I'm opting for less.
PERSONAL NOTE: I think that most of you are aware that Sunday morning was a very busy Sunday morning. The first Sunday of the month usually is busier then the rest because of communion, etc. We over scheduled and we will correct that. Beyond that, it was a good worship experience. Thank you Brenda for the solo. Oh... before I forget, the prayer time at 6:30 PM. was very enjoyable and productive. We had 18 present and it was probably the highlight of the entire day.
Please don't forget to invite someone to the 4 PM., Feb. 8th ROYALHEIRS concert at First Baptist Church. What a great opportunity for stretching your outreach muscles! A love offering will be taken to help the ROYALHEIRS continue to minister faithfully.
Check out the most recent additions to the Bonus Training Links to your right (under my picture). The most recent are the top five or six in the list.
MONTHLY AUDIO: Click on this LINK to go to our February audio. The subject is "COMMUNICATING VISION". Listen as Ken Boa speaks on this subject. Download it to your computer and listen to it at your leisure.
LEADERSHIP TRAINING FEATURED ARTICLE: Click on this LINK to download and read our training article for this week called,"SPIRITUAL GROWTH FOR CHURCH LEADERS". Great food for thought.
BONUS SECTION: This week I want to take this spot and mention a book that would be of great value to any teacher or leader in our Church. The book is, "WILLMINGTON'S GUIDE TO THE BIBLE" by Harold L. Willmington. It is a very large book and can be found used (it is not cheap), but it is an extremely helpful book for any teacher, leader or preacher. Dr. Willmington has done a great job of going through each book of the Bible and creating sections that are great to teach from. If you can find this book, I know you will see it as a treasure... I do.
QUESTION OF THE WEEK: Please click on this link to read this week's question... LINK. "How can a true work of the Holy Spirit be distinguished from that which is false?"
TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL LINK: Please click this LINK.
I am going to close with a quote from John W. Gardner on leadership: "If one had to name a single, all-purpose instrument of leadership, it would be communication. It may be that the peaks of performance in communication can only be scaled by leaders of impressive native gifts. But most of the communication necessary for leadership can be taught. Young potential leaders should gain exceptional command, in both writing and speaking, of their own language and... workable knowledge of a second language. Courses in public speaking and debating do not enjoy high status in the academic world today. But the plain truth is that most bright young people are poor speakers, and it is a skill that leaders need."
